tldbox GmbH, one of nic.at’s sister companies, is pleased to announce its successful evaluation as a Registry Service Provider (RSP) under ICANN’s New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Program: 2026 Round.

ICANN has confirmed tldbox’s technical capabilities for MAIN registry services, DNS, and DNSSEC, qualifying the company as one of a limited number of ICANN-approved RSPs worldwide.

We were deeply moved by the visit of Mr. Christof S. Eisl, managing director of Lebensraum Tageshospiz, which also includes the mobile children's hospice PAPAGENO. For over 23 years, Mr. Eisl has been pulling out all the stops to work with his team to accommodate and care for terminally ill patients in the final stages of their lives, providing hospice support and palliative care.

TLD and secondary customers benefit from additional nodes in Berlin, Tel Aviv and Toronto. With the addition of these three nodes, ipcom has further enhanced the performance and redundancy of its Anycast service RcodeZero DNS. The node in St. Petersburg for secondary customers has been closed. 

As of July 1, 2025, there has been a change in the management of nic.at: Andreas Musielak has taken over as Chief Commercial Officer, succeeding Richard Wein, who will retire at the end of August 2025 after 25 successful years with the company.

The anycast service RcodeZero DNS has gained another well-known top-level domain customer with the Italian domain registry CNR-IIT. With around 3.4 million delegations, a high volume of traffic and a demanding threat situation - particularly due to frequent attacks - .it brings new challenges that will further develop and strengthen the Anycast service in a targeted manner.

The Top-Level-Domain Information and Sharing Analysis Center (TLD ISAC) was founded in 2023 with the aim of strengthening the security and resilience of European top-level domains. As major cyber threats and technical challenges continue to grow, collaboration among industry participants plays an essential role.
