nic.at reduces registration fees for .at domains
Friday, 27. October 2000
From November 1st 2000, the registration of a .at domain will be reduced to ATS 1000 from ATS 1200 (prices incl. 20% VAT) which means a price cut of almost 20%. This sum includes the annual administration fee which remains at ATS 500,- .
This fee reduction was decided by the management board of ISPA (Internet Service Provider Austria) of which nic.at is a 100% subsidiary.
Herbert Vitzthum and Richard Wein, general manager of nic.at said: “There are two reasons for the price reduction: we have increased the efficiency of our administration through good management which has helped us to save costs. Further, the number of new registrations has exceeded all expectations and was very profitable.
With 141.000 .at domains registered (as of the end of October) Austria ranks 11th worldwide in Country Top Level Domains.
In comparison with international domain prices, nic.at's fees rank just below average. However, nic.at offers an outstanding standard in customer service, internal arbitration of disputes and transparacy of administration.
Despite the unexpected number of .at-Domains, the administration of the data is extremely efficient. Through clear structures, standardized workflows, a paperless office and data bank access a short processing of applications and modifications is guaranteed.
