Thursday, 21. September 2006

Brussels: Ten European registries, nic.at among them, agreed within the scope of CENTR (Council of European National Top Level Domain Registries) to financially stimulate improvements in services at ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Numbers and Names) regarding the important function of IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority). The established fund of $190,000 should be used in the project "e-IANA" with the aim of enhancing the cooperation between the CC-TLDs registries and IANA. Richard Wein, CEO of nic.at and Chair of the Fund, is confident, that this investment will also improve the special cooperation between registries and ICANN.
